Engel's kids leggings are made from 70% organic merino wool and 30% silk; it is very comfortable against the skin and the preferred material for babies and children with sensitive skin. It is an essential that children can wear underneath clothing as an extra layer of warmth. Wool is very breathable and has warming and cooling characteristics in comparison to cotton and absorbs sweat without feeling wet or cold.
Engel's wool is finely crimped, does not itch and feels soft and cozy against baby's sensitive skin. The Merino sheep are organically raised without the use of pesticides on neither pastures nor animals.
CARE
Wool garments are naturally antibacterial and do not retain dirt or odors quickly, so you do not need to wash this garment frequently. Woollens are best washed with a wool shampoo by hand and with cold water (water shouldn't be ice cold as it can shock fibers as well). Hang to dry. If preferred, this garment can also be washed in the machine with lukewarm water (30 C) on a delicate or wool wash setting, short spin on lowest setting.

Sizes given are based on European sizing. A size 92 means that it will fit children with a head to feet length of +/- 92 cm.

Purchased our first set 2yrs ago. The wool/silk blend makes it very stretchy and therefore prone to thinning at hard wearing areas (e.g. knees and butt). If you're using these purely as base layers it's not a problem, but we used them like pants as well, and got a hole in the knee fairly early on.. Patched them up and good to go. Will keep buying these bc the kids and parents all love them.
Left to her own device, my kid will only wear dresses and sparkly things, even if they're totally not appropriate for the season. We got these leggings with the Engel merino/silk kids shirt, and she's been running home to change into her "jammies" every day after school. "They're so cozy!" Would recommend asking for measurements. The fit on these is slim. These are appropriate for wearing on their own. They don't look like wool long johns if you're wondering (as I was). Great value, and excellent customer service to boot.
