Disana wool diaper covers offer the ultimate solution for nighttime leaks, even for heavy wetters. No more wet sleep sacks or bed sheets. Just pull your Disana Wool Cover over a fitted diaper or prefold and your baby will wake up dry and happy in the morning. Wool diaper covers are highly absorbent, dirt repellent, extremely breathable and ultra comfortable. Made from 100% organic merino wool, these wool covers are available in four different sizes for a custom fit. This pull-up wool cover is made with a light-weight double knit. Wool naturally contains lanolin, which binds the moisture with the fiber and repells dirt. If your wool diaper cover is only a little damp you can air it out between uses and reuse it. Wool covers are highly breathable and despite parents concerns, keep baby's skin much cooler than do PUL covers. Whether during daytime or nighttime, summer or winter, the Disana wool diaper cover is an excellent choice for an all natural, organic, and worry-free diaper cover. Disana wool diaper covers are one of Germany's most popular diaper covers, now available in Canada, including the new spring colours.
If used as an over-night diaper, do not put a pyjama over the wool cover as cotton may draw moisture out of the wool cover. A shirt and the wool covers inside a sleeping sack is enough to keep your baby warm and dry.
We recommend using newborn fitted diapers or newborn prefolds under our Disana wool covers in the size XS. Both, our Storchenkinder Fitted Diaper in size 1 or AMP fitted diapers in size 1, are great fitted diapers that fit newborns and beyond well. All other cover sizes fit well over any one-size or sized fitted diaper.
For best results we recommend that you lanolize your wool covers twice before you use them.
Once a week, or when your wool diaper cover starts to smell, you should wash it with a gentle wool detergent, such as our Disana Wool Shampoo. Woollen products should be hand washed at a maximum temperature of 30 ºC. Simply fill your sink with lukewarm water and add some wool wash to it. Place your wool cover into the water. You can then check if your cover needs to be lanolized again: if the cover swims on top of the water without soaking it up then it still has enough lanolin in it. If it soaks up water you should lanolize it after your wash. Back to your washing routine: swirl your wool diaper cover in the water and let it soak for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, gently wash it again; turning it inside out helps wash into the fibres. Avoid rubbing or wringing of the fibre to prevent felting. Once washed, rinse the cover, gently squeeze out excess water with your hands or with a towel, and dry flat. Do not tumble dry or dry clean your wool diaper cover.
With every wash you neutralize the lanolin content in the fibre. To replenish the lanolin in your wool diaper cover simply dissolve 2 tbsp of our liquid Disana Lanolin Conditioner in warm water. Add some cold water to bring temperature down to lukewarm. Now you can add your wool cover: swirl it around and let it soak for 5-10 minutes. To finish, swirl it around again, then drain the water and squeeze excess water out of the cover, first with your hand and then with a towel. Dry flat. Your cover will dry in about 24 hours after lanolizing. Done!

Please note that Disana wool covers size xs are labeled 3-6 months by the manufacturer. Our experience is that it fits most babies 1-6 months. We have a fair amount of parents that use the xs covers from newborn age already. It will reach up to the armpits of your baby but it is still a soft, breathable and workable cover.
Available Colours: green, natural, hazelnut (lighter than shown), red, orange, blue, plum, berry (not shown)

I purchased two of these covers based on the reasonable price point, and the excellent reviews in the hopes it would be an alternative to the night time disposable we have to use in an otherwise cloth diapering routine. I wasn't disappointed! They arrived just as expected, soft and well made. I washed and lanolized them before the first use as recommended. The first night I used one, my son slept 14 hours over night, and when he woke, the bed and the outside of the cover were dry - incredible! I also love that it does not pinch or dig leaving red marks anywhere around my babies' thighs or belly, so have used during the day around home as well. These covers have convinced me that wool is ultimate cover for superior leak proofing, breathability, and comfort. And not nearly as complicated as I originally thought. I will definitely purchase this product again when we're ready for the next size.
Additionally, avasappletree.ca sent a kind thank you card with my order, which was a really great gesture - it made my otherwise faceless digital experience very personal and appreciated.

My baby is 10 months old and small for his age, I ordered one cover in small and one in medium, both fit great! I like big puffy and roomy cloth diaper bums though, so if you like things trim maybe size down. I lanolized these a few times before using, and made sure what I had underneath was absorbent enough, and they lasted 12+ hours overnight with dream nursing every couple of hours all night. The diapers underneath were soaked but the wool covers were barely damp. They naturally smell a bit like pee in the morning, but once dried out, they smell like brand new fresh wool again. They're also very soft and comfortable, no tight elastics cutting in, and keeps baby warm without overheating. I wish I had started with wool from the very beginning.

just ordered the next size up - these covers are wonderful! i used a similar cover with my first and i like these ones way better. these ones have more of a cuff and can be worn for a long time. at first they fit like pants then as they grow they fit more like shorts. they stay soft and i've never had a leak or a poop come through, unlike the ones i've had in the past. the colours are wonderful and they are super cute!
one of them did have a good sized run in it, that'll i'll have to fix though. wasn't too thrilled about that.

What I like most about woolies is that they are spacious, natural, breathable and don't squeeze anything! Disana diaper covers are nicely knitted and fit perfectly. They do not leak and do their work! I have heard that they are bulky. I bought maybe 2-3 sizes bigger and they still can be worn under sleepers and pants easily!

I love this cover. I was nervous about the design and look online but heard so many good things about it so glad I bit the bullet and ordered one.
Haven't had one leak.

The attention to quality in the fiber choice is obvious with these covers. They do exactly what they say, and they look durable enough to last until potty training. I cannot say the same for some of the PUL covers.
As its winter, warmth is also important. I love these on her.

I've use these covers for my daughter day and night since she was born. They are absolutely fabulous!
Before I purchased them, I found that the real cloth diaper enthusiasts who've tried all types said they prefer the wool cover to anything else. So after much research I bought them. Now I rave about them all the time!
For me, they are the best choice for a few huge reasons:
- Wool are the only diaper covers that are all natural.
- They are super soft, especially after a couple washes and uses
- They breath unlike any other cover
- The high waist band and wider leg holes keep any poop contained that may have escaped the diaper underneath (this point is really great!)
- I've only had to wash them every other week or so, unless they have poop on them (just air-dry when wet from pee)
- They're stretchy and never dig in, no need to adjust snaps or velcrow
- I love the fact that I can use them as her bottoms. Pants will fit over top, but I rarely use them. If it's chilly I throw on some leg warmers. :)
I've tried other types of non-wool covers, that friends passed on to me and now I understood why so many people become frustrated with cloth diapering. If only they just used these wool covers.
I can't say enough about how much I love them! :)
